What happens when a kölsch singer meets a country singer? Yes! A kölsch duet in the style of country.
Some weeks ago I met Micky Brühl. Micky was founding member and lead singer of the kölsch band “Paveier”. Meanwhile he’s successfully dealing with his own band. Micky likes country music very much, so there has been the idea to write the duet “Islands In The Stream” from Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers in kölsch. Here’s a demo version of the new duet:
This year there are many changes at Europe’s biggest trade fair for the music industry. The team presents a new concept I’m really looking forward to. One simple thing that doesn’t change is my performance on the Musikmesse stage. Come visit the Musikmesse, check the new products and visit me at the Circle Stage, Hall 3.1, or at the booth F91, Hall 3.1 of Karl Höfner GmbH&Co.KG.
An exciting year is coming to an end. Last spring my very personal album “Forward Back Home” was released, and I could be fully engaged in music again with the support of my beloved family. There were many concerts on my agenda through the year, and I’m sure that I could get many people enthusiastic about country music. I’m very happy about that because for me country music is the best of all.
I want to say a warm thank you for your support in the last year. It’s amazing to make music for you and I’m very thankful that there are so many people supporting me. Enjoy the silent christmas days with a glas of wine and delicious food and have a very good year 2019.
That’s how good cooperations start…by coincidence!!! At the Musikmesse in Frankfurt I tested a magic cube at the booth of Acus and made there a big show. PiTTi Hecht and Monika Romanovská joined me on stage and played with big fun and musical enthusiasm. After some good talks with Christian Reisinger from GVI it was clear…ACUS & JOLINA CARL…that fits! I’m looking forward to our future cooperation. I already tested the “heartbreaker” Acus One-8 at a concert and I’m really amazed. Big thanks to Acus & Big thanks to GVI!!!
„I used to sing his songs at least a thousand times, but never truly understood the meaning of these lines” (extract from the song “His Hideaway”).That’s what I thought about Johnny Cash, before I started a USA tour for 4 weeks in summer 2016. I was booked as main act to reopen a little stage after 35 years. A stage that Johnny Cash used to own to present young and old musicians, beginners as well as professionals. This stage belongs to the “Storytellers Museum” and the “Hideaway Farm” in Bon Aqua, about one hour from Nashville, Tennessee. The farm was Johnny’s hideaway far from his musical career and all that trouble. It was a place where he could write his music in a beautiful environment. I’m so proud that I had the chance to become a little part of music history with this concert. I was invited to sing with Stan Perkins, the son of Carl Perkins the famous song “Blue Suede Shoes” as a duet and also the popular duet “Jackson” with Mark Alan Cash, the nephew of Johnny Cash.
That’s exactly one year ago, and the land of country music called me again this year. This summer I played a big concert at Johnny Cash’s “Hideaway Farm” and all the country music lovers welcomed me again with open arms. It was like coming home. These experiences I had on this farm are deep in my heart. Now I understand the magic around Johnny Cash. I spend lots of hours with Sally and Brian Oxley, the owners of the farm and the little stage and also with Johnny Cash’s family and they told me hundereds of stories about the “Man in Black”. He shared his whole life with the world through his music.
