The land of country music called me, and I started the big adventure of a tour in Tennessee, USA. 4 weeks and about 20 concerts are now behind me.
The beginning of my tour was the Summer NAMM show in Nashville, a huge music fair, where manufacturers present their newest products. The NAMM show is a paradise for all music experts and fans, where I played Blueridge guitars for my endorser company SAGA Musical Instruments. Furthermore I was there for the biggest german cable company CORDIAL.
When you ask me now, what the biggest experience has been, I always tell about a concert in a little village named Bon Aqua, which is located about one hour from Nashville, Tennessee. In Bon Aqua you find the farm of Johnny Cash. This farm was Johnny’s “hideaway”, a place far away from all the trouble, where he could write his music in a wonderful surrounding. There’s also the “Storytellers Museum” that belongs to the farm, where a little stage has its home. It is a stage, where Johnny Cash gave many musicians the chance to show their talent to a big audience. After exactly 35 years this little stage was reopened with a concert where I was booked as the main act. On this evening I became part of music history. After the duets “Blue Suede Shoes” with Stan Perkins, the son of Carl Perkins, and “Jackson” with Mark Alan Cash, the nephew of Johnny Cash, I was allowed to show the amazing audience my idea of american country music. At the end of my performance I invited all musicians to join me on the stage and sing with me the old classic “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”, like Johnny Cash used to do many years ago. You can really feel his presence in that beautiful place, Johnny Cash called “center of my universe”. For me the farm and the Storytellers Museum in Bon Aqua are on the top of the list “Must-See” in Tennessee.
After this tour I’m now back in the “normal” life. My management will now prove and negociate the offers of some big american producers, and I hope I will be back very soon in the USA, the land of country music.
